As a family and on
behalf of Mustard Seed Communities we wanted to thank all of the team players
who helped make our “Race for Eniko” so successful! We were able to raise a little over $6,000
which is absolutely amazing! Once we
subtract out the race costs we will be donating $4,800 directly to Mustard
Seed. We are excited to meet with them
over the next few weeks and determine how the funds will be utilized. Words can’t describe our deep gratitude to
all of you to help make this substantial donation possible! Without a doubt this donation will help
provide many necessities to the amazing residents at Mustard Seed Communities’
homes in Jamaica.
First
of all we want to thank our parents and family who encouraged us from the
beginning to make this race a reality!
Without their support and guidance we would not have been so successful.
Thank
you to all of the race day participants!
We had 91 registrations and 75 people finished the race. We were blown away by how many people showed
interest and appreciate all of our friends who donated if they were unable to
attend.
We
want to send a big thank you to the “Frederick Steeplechasers”. They marked our course, organized the
runners, and determined the race results.
They made everything seem easy and made the morning of the race a lot
less stressful!
We
couldn’t have had our race without our race volunteers. Thank you to Aaron Haslam, Corey Eustace, and
Tom Hisky (aka Poppop) for all of your help setting up so early on the morning
of the race! Even though a lot of you
said you didn’t do much you were absolutely essential, the Steeplechasers were
even calling you our “course marshalls” :). Thank you to our wonderful “course
marshalls”: Diana Kinsley, Emily Hite, Nick Monteil, Tom Hisky, Meghan
Cobourn, and Mr. and Mrs. Hogg; you all helped to keep our runners safe and
hydrated!
One
of the highlights of the morning was our post-race breakfast! Colleen McKenna facilitated a donation from “Eggspectations”
who donated all of the food. Thank you
so much Colleen and Jade for setting up all of the amazing food it was
definitely a hit! Thank you to
“Wegmans’” for donating all of the bottles of water for the day of the race.
We
wanted to thank Tammy Sigman for requesting that “If the Shoe Fits” could
donate our race bibs! The bibs were the
first official race gear we received and it made it all feel legitimate :).
We
had several friends and family members who lent different items not to mention
their time and talents which helped to contribute to the success of our
event. Thank you Tom Ware for lending
your sound system it was perfect to give our speeches and announce the awards! Thank you to the Cobourn family for lending
us your speakers so that we could play our reggae music :). Also thank you to Chad and Megan Steiner who
found us water coolers to use at the water station. Thank you to Uncle Mark Wieber for his
amazing design work on our “Race for Eniko” logo which we used on our websites
and flyers! Thank you Uncle Mike Shenk
for taking and sharing race day pictures!
We
had over 40 different monetary donations from both individuals and
organizations. Once again we were
overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity!
Thank you to all of our friends and family members who made individual
donations your selfless donation will make a huge impact for the kids at
MSC. Thank you as well to each of the
organizations who made donations to our fundraiser including: Primerica, St. Alphonsus
Parish, Chipotle, UNOs, Mark A. Ritter with Garceau Realty, Maverick Funding
Corporation, Beck’s, and The Ryan Sebeck Team – Re/Max Preferred (please see their logos below).
Once
again thank you to all involved it truly means the world to us! We’re excited to share how our funds are
utilized so that you can understand how much the residents of MSC appreciate
your gifts. We were able to remember
Eniko in a big way and supporting his friends is a beautiful way to honor his
gentle and loving spirit. Thank you
again!
Love,
The Konstantas Girls
